The Blackamore's Head
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Blackamoor's Head, in St Martin's, Aldersgate.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2642; Obv inscription: THE.BLACK.MORES.HEAD (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A moor's head (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ST.MARTINS.ALDERSG (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = E.A.F. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
