The Mitre
Henry Pelling issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the lower end of Old Jewry.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2151; Obv inscription: HENRY.PELLING.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A mitre (in field); Rev inscription: LOWER.END.OVLD.IVRY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / 1668 (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field).
