The White Lion
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the sign of the White Lion at Guildhall Gate, Guildhall Yard.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1297; Obv inscription: AT.THE.WHIT.LYON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A lion rampant (in field); Rev inscription: IN.GVILD.HALL.GATE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.A.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
