The Two Draymen
Elizabeth Wapshott issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Two Men, at St Saviour's Dock, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 385; Obv inscription: ELIZABETH. WAPSHOTT. AT. YE (Around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Two men carrying a barrel on a pole (in field); Rev inscription: AT. SEVERIES. DOCK. HEAD. 1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HER / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
