The Ship
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the Ship tavern in Crutched Friars.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 809; Obv inscription: AT.THE.SHIPPE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ship (in field); Rev inscription: IN.CRVCHED.FRIERS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.E.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
