The Sword and Anchor
Humphrey Taft, a cutler (maker of cutlery), issued this trade token, worth a farthing for his business in Chancery Lane, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 524; Obv inscription: HVMPHREY.TAFT.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = An anchor and sword (in field); Rev inscription: AT.CHANCERY.LANE.END (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = CVTLER / 1665 (in two lines of Roman capitals, in field).
