The Rose and Crown
James Cooper issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Rose and Crown, in St Katherine's Lane, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2604; Obv inscription: IAMES.COOPER.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose and crown (in field); Rev inscription: IN.ST / KATHERNS / LANE.HIS / HALF.PENY / 1668 / I.A.C (in six lines of Roman capital with triad of initials as bottom between date, in field); octagonal.
