The Pair of Spectacles
John Hayward, a spectacles maker, issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in St Katherine's, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2614; Obv inscription: IOHN.HEAWARD.IN.St (around field, in Roman capitals, in field) Device = A pair of spectacles (in field); Rev inscription: KATRNS.SPECTELE.MAKER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.M.H. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
