The Bear
Cornelius Cook issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Bear, at the Bridge Foot, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 198; Obv inscription: CORNELIVS.COOKE.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A bear with a chain (in field); Rev inscription: BEARE.AT.THE.BRIDG.FOT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = C.A.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
