The White Hart
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued at the White Hart tavern in Bedlam Gate (Old Bethlem neighbourhood, now Liverpool Street).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 188; Obv inscription: AT.THE.WHITE.HART (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A hart lodged (in field); Rev inscription: AT.BEDLAM.GATE.1657(around field, in Roman capitals) Device = E.E.K. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
The White Hart tavern was demolished in 1829 when the Bethlem Gate was removed to develop Liverpool Street.
