Tankard
A conical tankard of pint capacity with an everted rim and decorative fillets around the base. The hollow-cast swept handle has escutcheon and flush attachments, and the thumplate is marked with the initials ‘R’ and ‘M’. The body is inscribed within wriggle work oval frame ‘R Marshall/ Cross Keys/ Bermondsey/ Strt’. There is a crowned ‘WR’ verification mark just below the rim to the left of the handle. There is a piece missing from the base. No remaining marks. Date: c. 1820-50.
