The Swan
Elizabeth Swan issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for her business in Rotherhithe, Surrey.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Surrey number 284; Obv inscription: ELIZABETH.SWAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HER / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: AT.REDERIFF (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A swan (in field).
