The Stocking
Henry Smith issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Upper Shadwell, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Middlesex number 199; Obv inscription: HENREY.SMITH.1658 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A stocking (in field); Rev inscription: IN.VPER.SHADWELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.A.S. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
