The Windmill
Benjamin Miller issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Upper Shadwell, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Middlesex number 187; Obv inscription: BENIAMIN.MILLER.1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A windmill (in field); Rev inscription: IN.VPPER.SHADWELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
