The Tallow Chandler
Luke Ivory, a tallow chandler (candle maker), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Brentford, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Middlesex number 17; Obv inscirption: LVKE.IVORY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A man dipping candles (in field); Rev inscription: BRENTFORD.CHANDR (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = L.E.I. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
