The King's Head
Daniel King issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the King's Head, in Tooley Street, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 447; Obv inscription: DANIELL.KING.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Bust of Charles II C.R (initials in Roman capitals either side of sign, in field) Rev inscription: IN / TOOLYE / STREET / HIS.HALF / PENNY / 1668 (in six lines); heart-shaped.
