The Globe
Richard Berry issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Three Men at St Saviour's Dockhead, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 367; Obv inscription: RICHARD.BERRY.AT.THE.3 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three men with astronomical instruments standing round a globe (in field); Rev inscription: AT. ST. SAVERYS. DOCK. 1666 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
