The Three Cloves
Thomas Stiver issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Three Doves, in Kent Street, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 293; Obv inscription: THOM.STIVER.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Tallowchandlers' arms (3 doves) (in field); Rev inscription: END.OF.KENT.STREETE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.S / 1652 (initials in Roman capitals with date below, in field).
