The Frying Pan
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Frying Pan, in Deadman's Place, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 223; Obv inscription: AT.THE.FRYING.PAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A frying pan (in field); Rev inscription: IN.DEADMANS.PLACE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A.R.T. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
