The Dog
Joseph Brocket issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at Bridge Foot, Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 196; Obv inscription: IOSEPH.BROCKET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A talbot (extinct breed of hunting dog) with a chain (in field); Rev inscription: BRIG.FOOT.SOVTHWARK (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.M.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
