The Green Man
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Green Man, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 41; Obv inscription: AT.THE.GREENE.MAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A naked man holding a club on his shoulder (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SOVTHWARKE.1651 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A.G (in field, in Roman capitals).
