John Fox issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business at the sign of the Crown, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 38; Obv inscription: IOHN.FOX.AT.THE.CRWN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A crown (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SOVTHWARK.1657 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A fox (in field).
