The Lion and Lamb
George Corfield issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Lion and Lamb, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 25; Obv inscription: George / Corfield. at. ye / Lyon. &. Lambe / in. Southwark / G.K.C. (in four line of cursive script, with triad of initials in Roman capitals at bottom, in field); Rev inscription: HIS.HALF.PENY (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = 1666 ; A lion and a lamb (date below sign, in field).
