This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Rose and Crown, in Southwark.
Boyne & Williamson (1891) reference Southwark number 5; Obv inscription: THE.ROSE.AND.CROWNE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A rose crowned (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SOVTHWARKE.1651 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = T.K.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
