The Moses and Aaron
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of Moses and Aaron, in Whitechapel, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3421; Obv inscription: THE.MOSES.AND.AARON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Moses and Aaron standing (in field); Rev inscription: IN.WHITE.CHAPPELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.S.R. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Whitechapel lay in Stepney, Middlesex; it is now part of the London Borough of Tower Hamlets.
