The King's Head
Thomas Boyden issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the King's Head, in Wheeler Street, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3377; Obv inscription: THOMAS.BOYDEN.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Crowned bust of Charles II (in field); Rev inscription: IN.WHEELER.STREET.1669 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / T.A.B. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
