William Hewes issued this trade token, worth a farthing, at the Ship tavern, in Wapping, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3309; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.HEWES.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A ship (in field); Rev inscription: SHIP.TAVERN.IN.WAPING (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = W.H (in field, in Roman capitals).
