The Wheatsheaf
Joseph Harris, a mealman (someone who deals in meal crops, such as oats), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business on Wapping Wall, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3306A; Obv inscription: MEALE.MAN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = IO / SEPH / HAR / RIS (in four lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: VPON.WAPPING.WALL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A wheatsheaf (in field).

Wapping Wall runs north-east of Garnet Street, in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, it was previously part of Stepney, Middlesex.
