Boyne & Williamson reference London number 3305A; Obv: AT.Y.FORTANE.TAVERN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = 1659 / I.H (in two lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: IN.WAPPINGE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Fortune holding a veil spread out in the wind, standing on a globe (in field).
Wapping lies in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, having formerly been part of Stepney, Middlesex.
