The Indian and spear; The Virginian ?
Thomas Clark issued this trade token,worth a farthing, for his business on Great Tower Hill (now Tower Hill).
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3194; Obv inscription: THOMAS.CLARKE.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = An man holding a spear between T.C (intials in Roman capitals on either side of sign, in field); Rev inscription: ON.GREAT.TOWER.HILL.1667 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / T.A.C. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
