The Cock
John Waters issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Cock, at Tower Docks, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3192; Obv inscription: IOHN.WATERS.AT.YE.COCK (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A cock (in field); Rev inscription: AT.TOWER.DOCKE.1669 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / I.E.W. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of intials as bottom, in field); octagonal
