Francis Stone, a mealman (someone who deals in meal crops, such as oats), issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Temple bar without, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3069; Obv inscription: FRANCIS.STONE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = MEAL / MAN (in two lines of Roman capitals); Rev inscription: WITHOVT.TEMPLE.BARR (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A wheatsheaf (in field).
