The Cock Ale House; The Cock and Bottle
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for at the Cock Ale House, at Temple Bar.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 3037; Obv inscription: THE.COCK.ALE.HOVSE (aruond field, in Roman capitals) Device = A cock (in field); Rev inscription: AT.TEMPLE.BARR.1655 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.M.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
