The Three Tuns
Richard Midlaton issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in Spitalfields, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2931; Obv inscription: RICHARD.MIDLATON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three tuns (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SPITTLE.FEILDS.1667 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY / R.I.M. (in four lines of Roman capitals with triad of initials as bottom, in field).
