The Sun Dial
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Sun Dial, in Salisbury Court.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2740; Obv inscription: THE.SVNNE.DYALL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sunflower (in field); Rev inscription: SALSBVRY.COVRT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = 1D (in field).
Salisbury Court runs south off Fleet Steet, its southern most end joining Dorset Rise, in the ward of Farringdon Without, in the City of London.
