The Bear, Bull and Horse
William Emet issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business in St Swithin's Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2733; Obv inscription: WM. EMET. IN. ST. SWITHENS. LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev device: A bear, a bull and a horse (in field).

St Swithin's Lane runs south off King William Street, to Cannon Street, in Walbrook Ward, in the City of London; at the time of issue the street ran further north in to Langbourn ward, but this portion was demolished for the creation of King WIlliam Street in 1832, see Henry A. Harben, A Dictionary of London (London, 1918).
