The Turks' Head Coffee House
This trade token, worth a penny, was issued for a coffee house at the west end of St Paul's Cathedral.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2730; Obv inscription: THE.COFFE.HOVSE.AT.THE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A Turk's head (in field); Rev inscription: WEST.END.OF.ST.PAVLS.LONDON (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Name in cipher (in field).
