The Wheatsheaf and Sugar Loaf
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of the Wheat Sheaf and Suger Loaf, in Ratcliffe, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2337; Obv inscription: THE.WHEAT.SHEAF.AND (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A sheaf of corn and a sugar-loaf (in field); Rev inscription: SVGER.LOFE.IN.RATLIF (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.D.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
