The White Horse
William Baker issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Little White Horse, near Ratcliffe Cross, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2324; Obv inscription: WILLIAM.BAKER.AT.LITTLE. WHIT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A horse (in field); Rev inscription: HORS.NERE.RATCLIF.CROSS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
