John Rixon issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the sign of the Sun, in Princes Street, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2281; Obv inscription: IOHN.RIXON.AT.THE.SVN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = The sun (in field); Rev inscription: IN.PRINCES.STREET (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENNY (in three lines of Roman capitals, in field).
