The Mansfield Coffee House
This trade token, worth a penny, was issued at the Mansfield's Coffee House, in Shoe Lane.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2798; Obv inscription: MANSFIELDS.COFFEE.HOVSE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A hand holding a coffee pot (in field); Rev inscription: IN.SHOE.LANE.BY.PROVIDENCE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Coffee cups and pipes on a table (in field).
