Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2772; Obv inscription: RICH.THOMSON.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = An man with bow and arrow (in field); Rev inscription: SHERBORNE.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = R.T (in field, in Roman capitals).
Sherborne Lane, lies off King William Street, in Walbrook Ward, in the City of London; before the creation of King William Street, the street extended further north to Lombard Street, see Henry A. Harben, A Dictionary of London (London, 1918).
