Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2220; Obv inscription: CRISTOPHER.WELDON.AT.YE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A crescent moon (in field); Rev inscription: IN.PETTICOATE.LANE.1667 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALFE / PENY (in field).
Petticoat Lane, now Middlesex Street, lies in the City of London, having formerly been part of Whitechapel, Middlesex.
