The Bell Brewhouse
Abraham Chitty, issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business at the Bell Brewhouse, in Paul's Wharf.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2197; Obv inscription: ABRAHAM. CHITTY. AT. YE. BELL (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = HIS / HALF / PENY / 1669 (in four lines of Roman capitals); Rev inscription: BREW / HOVSNEAR / PAVLES / WHARFE and a bell (in four lines in Roman capitals); octagonal.
