The Next Boat
This trade token, worth a farthing, was issued for a business in Paul's Wharf.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2196; Obv inscription: AT.YE.NEXT.BOAT.BY.PAVLS (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A boat containing three men, over NEXT / BOAT ( in two lines of Roman capitals above sign, in field); Rev inscription: WHARFE. AT. PETERS. HILL. FOOT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = M.M.B. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
