Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2074; Obv inscription: IOHN.PARKER.IN (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = MELE / MAN (in two lines of Roman capitals, in field); Rev inscription: NIGHTINGGAL.LANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.S.P. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Nightingale Lane (now Thomas More Street), East Smithfield, lies in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, having formerly been part of Stepney, Middlesex.
