Henry Crump issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in Nightingale Lane (now Thomas More Street), East Smithfield, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 2071; Obv inscription: HENRY.CRVMP.1665 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three leopards (in field); Rev inscription: IN.NIGHTINGAL.LANE (around field, in Roman captials) Device = H.S.C. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Nightingale Lane (now Thomas More Street), East Smithfield, lies in the London Borough of Tower Hamlets, having formerly been part of Stepney, Middlesex.
