The Three Sugar Loaves
James Waters, a chandler, issued this trade token, worth a farthing, for his business in New Crane, Wapping, Middlesex.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1995; Obv inscription: IA.WATERS.CHANDLER (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = Three sugar-loaves joined (in field); Rev inscription: AT.WAPIN.NEW.CRANE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.E.W. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
