The Talbot
This trade token worth a farthing, was issued for a business at the sign of Talbot (a now extinct hunting dog), in Mouldmaker's Row.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1977A; Obv inscription: AT.THE.TAVBVT (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A dog (in field); Rev inscription: MOOLEMAKERS.ROE (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = I.E.K. (triad of initials in Roman capitals, in field).
Mouldmaker's Row lay in Aldersgate Ward, in the City of London, the General Post Office Buildings were built over the area, and demolished in 1910.
