The Crowned Rose Coffee House
Henry Sadd issued this trade token, worth a half penny, for his business, a coffee shop in Minories, Portsoken Ward, City of London.
Boyne & Williamson (1889) reference London number 1940; Obv inscription: HENRY. SADD. IN. YE. MINORIES (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = H.S and a crowned rose (initials in Roman capitals on either side of sign, in field); Rev inscription: A.COFFEE.HALFE.PENNY.66 (around field, in Roman capitals) Device = A Turk's head and H.S (initials in Roman capitals on either side of sign, in field).
